In Wagner vs. Miskin, UND student Glenda Miskin reported to a counselor that UND Associate Professor of Physics Dr. John L. Wagner told her how he was targeting schoolgirls between the ages of eight and 14 for sex in his Methodist church.

 UND Suspended Ms. Miskin for making the report    trumping up fake charges of "Stalking" against her.

 Although reports to counselors enjoy absolute privilege, Wagner sued Miskin with UND Continuing  Ed professor attorney William E. McKechnie and won a $3 million judgment against her in a Grand Forks Circuit Court last year. Mr. McKechnie has since been ordered suspended from the North Dakota Bar, has given up law and has moved to the Twin Cities to be a financial consultant. It is alleged that Mr. McKechnie is now a job consultant for the agency Manpower that hires day laborers. North Dakota Supreme Court is now reviewing Wagner vs. Miskin. Meanwhile any witness in North Dakota who reports child abuse is subject to a libel suit.
