An Interview With a Playboy Model by Karen M.
[Editors Note: We were a little long in getting our interview with Veronica as she joined the Army and just spent nine weeks in Boot Camp!]
Q. Veronica, why did you join the Military?
A. I love athletics and felt that the Army would give me more self-discipline. I
need a lot of discipline as my goals and expectations for myself are really
high. I want to be an architect in a large firm. I love engineering and
architecture. Being financially stable is really important to me. Someday I want
to build my own house and own my own large firm. The military was a way to help
pay for college.
Q. What is your attitude toward sex?
A. You should hold off for as long as you can, hopefully until marriage. If you
can't resist you should definitely make sure if you are having sex, it is
protected.
Q. What was it like working at Hooters??
A. I liked it. The staff was real caring and walked us to the bus stops after
work and all. We were always well taken care of and I made GREAT tips!
Q. What do you like to do for fun?
A. Because I am from here, I love riding snow mobiles. I love to go ice skating
and roller-blading. I also like clubbing and going out with friends. Traveling
the U.S. is fun too. Someday I want to travel all over the world!
Q. What kind of exercises do you do, how do you stay in shape?
A. I'm in the army and I run 6-8 miles a week. I do pushups and sit-ups and that
keeps me in good shape.
Q. What kind of bathing suits do you like?
A. Bikinis, definitely bikinis.
Q. What's your favorite color?
A. Purple
Q. What's your favorite fruit or food?
A. I love to eat barbequed ribs. My favorite fruit. . . strawberries.
Q. What do you look for in a man?
A. Someone with an education. A gentleman. I like a man who is smart talented
and charming.
Q. What do you do when you are by yourself at home?
A. Read and sleep. I like to write poetry sometimes (I'm a romantic) I like to
watch movies and
to work out.
Q. As UND is close to where you grew up, why didn't you go there?
A. UND was to close to home and too small and didn’t have the field I was going
into. I hardly ever go there. UND has a bad reputation for rape. I think that
the problem of the rapes at UND is terrible and should be resolved and not
talked about behind close doors. When I heard about the UND student who is suing
the police for laughing at her when she reported being raped I thought is was
just awful. Being raped is no joke.
I heard about and then read that article about that physics professor Wagner
and the way UND
handled the whole thing was horrible. If I was that student, I would have done
the same thing.
I think that this Web page is a great way to get out what is really going on at
UND.
Q. Would you say that UND is weird because some of them are afraid of sex, some
of them like
children, and some of them don't know what they like?
A. Weird, just because they are trying to save their reputation and it is no
excuse to misinform the public of what's going on. The way they handle things
makes people afraid to come forward to make a report. It's an invitation for
others to be put in a dangerous situation. I'm glad I decided to go to the
University of Wisconsin. The atmosphere there is much better. I love the city
life and the University of Wisconsin Architecture program.
Q. Do men treat you differently now that you have posed for playboy?
A. Some people think that because I posed for Playboy that is my reputation but
that is not what I am about at all. I have many goals and morals in my life and
I am well educated. I was a model before Playboy Magazine and I plan to continue
to model. Modeling for an internationally known magazine like Playboy definitely
furthered my modeling career. It was fun. My only regret is that I never met
Hugh Heffner.
Q. Which job do you like better Hooters or Playboy magazine?
A. Actually, the military is the best. When civilians see you, you get a lot
more respect because
they know that you are fighting for our country.
