Did
UND Medical School Commit Federal Fraud?
Double Dipping
Professors
FROM MIKE: Were there
fraud(s) made intentionally by medical school's administrators when they paid
additional salary , from federal funds , to professors who were fully paid by
UND budget ? How about these given to both Drs. Blake and Epstein ? ---
P.S. Correcting the records ?. Do not think about it... I have the documents .
These are FEDERAL grants money which is being, among others, misused .
Exam
Passed Out In More Ways Than One!

The
med.sch. has had good professors too . Unfortunately some have left since . Our
class missed Dr. Hein, the former chairman of pharmacology, since he told us in
advance about the projected questions in each pharmacology examination . He also
kindly instructed his faculty to do the same but only one bad bad professor did
not follow . This gave us more time to study for other more important exams such
as pathology. We passed the part 1 of the Board regardless. Good work Dr. Hein
and we appreciated it .

Pharmacology
department discloses tests to medical students before their scheduled
examinations and Dr. Hein received "best teacher award" . Give me a
break , Is this an award or REWARD for passing you in pharmacology .

Pharmacology
department treated us nursing students like dirt . But gave the medical students
their exams to pass the grade ? What a treat .

Yes
Sir & Madam . Indeed,, the medical school pharmacology dept. always released
in advance test questions to both medical and its graduate students .

My
former husband , now an MD , has told me several times that UND medical school
pharmacology REMAKE exams were given repeatedly to medical students until they
PASSED . He used to pass his exams after the 3rd or 4th retake trial . By
comparison, I as a nursing student at UND , and was not allowed this privilege .
Is this the case in all US medical schools ? This way all students graduate
regardless .

It
is not the case with all medical schools. It appears UND has several
standards-ranging from criminally unfair to ridiculously generous.
UND Resident Goes to Pot

Remote Name:
I
didn't believe your 2 accounts about him . I checked it out . [1] His name is
Sprenger and not Springer, the latter is the name of the reporter in the Fargo /
Forum daily who reported the story . [2] The charges made were not only for
growing Marijuana ( since 82 plants were sized in his Fargo's home on June 10,
1999 ) , which is a 10 year sentence , but also for both the possession of it ,
a 5 year sentence , and of the drug paraphernalia , a 1 year sentence . [3] The
Dr. refused to a plea after he agreed to it and opted instead for a Jury trial ,
which is set for April 28 , 2000 . Having said that , I must now confess that I
believe you. However , more disturbing to me was the revelation , as seen in an
old UND telephone directory , that Craig Sprenger was a graduate student in the
medical school pharmacology dept.
Judy Demers Promotes Her Friends
My
medical school sources told me that the medical school Associate Dean Judy
DeMers has made for him the first exception in the medical school's history by
accepting him as a medical student BEFORE finishing his graduate degree in
pharmacology. Here we go again Judy . This let me to wonder about another case,
why she accepted a tenured associate professor of pharmacology as a medical
student (Dr. Blake) . As it turned out Dr. Blake was the first such case in
medical school . ...My sources for the forgoing events are the internet [
www.in-forum.com/pub(040)2000/20772.shtml , UND phone directories and 2 medical
school employees ] . However, I have few basic questions for Medical school
administration. These are, a), Is Dr. Springer still an intenal medicine
resident at medical school's branch in Fargo ? , b) is he is still being paid ?
c) is he seeing patients ? . About Dr. Blake , it has been shown on your web
site that he was a professor of pharmacology who did not study but taught
pharmacology at UND medical school . My Question is " since he attended the
medical school pharmacology classes, does this mean he took the exams too
"?
RIP-OFF
1) A sociologist
becomes a neurologist at the medical school to work with his wife . Richard
Wilsnak is listed as a professor of Sociology in the UND catalog 1988 and
then became a Professor of neuroscience at the fabulous medical school as shown
in 1990 catalog to present . He never received a medical degree . His wife
Sharon is also a Professor of Neuroscience with a similar background. 2) the
famous Department of Pediatrics in the Medical School at Grand Forks deserves
more attention for its 'absentee' director! Under the claim of traveling , while
being at home , he does not apparently teach much and when he does appear on the
campus it becomes confusing when you ask questions. He also supervised his wife
as a nurse in the same unit and she was hardly arround until she left! 3)
Professor M. Blake of the medical school became a medical student and continued
to be paid by the medical school and remained during that time on the faculty as
well . He was even promoted in rank and became tenured before he became a
student . Interestingly, he taught a subject for which he too had no former
education.
STRIP-OFF?
The highest paid administrative
secretary in the medical school LaVonne Johnson moved from the Department of
Surgery to this high paid job without a single qualification other than the
services she forced upon the younger secretaries in the surgery department to
perform for their Chairman Dr. James, who became the Dean of the Medical
School!!! Once again the job was never advertised!
